Started by a young student, Linus Torvalds and continued by thousands other peoples, Linux developed into a full operating system, for servers especially, but, in the past 2 years, in a very good desktop system. Linux can be used for business, education, science and almost every other domain a computer can be used. Although Linux was developed as a professional network-oriented system (being an Unix style OS), the latest developments brought it on the desktop. Despite the relative hard work in configuring it, some of the latest distributions made great efforts in developing easy-to-use software to ease the set up of this operating system.
