Displays time delayed sequence of static and/or animated Gifs and/or Jpegs within a region from a server-side text database. Both Java 1 (JDK 1.1) and Java 2 (JDK 1.2 and JDK 1.3) are supported.

RotatingBanner employs all features of a standard web advertisement banner and offers an easy to use and customizable component.

The banner works in a client-server way. Each time it needs a new image, it notifies a banner server to return an image URL and link to point to, whenever the user clicks the banner. It contains a list of all banner servers that deliver images and takes each one at a time according to a specified delay.

The currently available features are:

• Display Area - creates a region that supports Jpegs, Gifs and animated Gifs.

• Web Links - the display region reacts to mouse clicks and can open links (URLs, emails, mailto, FTP, gopher, news), within the same or another browser window.

• Banner Store - The banner images along with their links are stored within a simple text database.

• Rotation Speed - the frequency at which the banners are displayed within the display area.

• Image Caching - optimizes image transfer from the server.
